Effects of Data Explosions
The spread of technology and digital world is accelerating, and we mostly live or forced to live our lives in virtual spaces. This has been strongly highlighted by the recent global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. I examine the problem of identifying the problem of data accumulated in virtual space, the challenges of making the “invisible” data mass visible. Mainly through contemporary fine art examples, I present the data explosion, the possibilities of data storage, those slightly perceptible physical extent in the digital space and the ecological impact of data usageThus, the aim of the thesis highlighting of the projections of our virtual realities on the basis of the used literature and the works of fine art, in order to systematize and interpret the connections independently.
