thesis
A contemporary adjudication of tattooing
My thesis starts with an overview of the history of tattooing. I placed particular emphasis on demonstrating how tattoos were identified as a deviant behavior. Then I researched the main reasons why tattooing became more popular, and I analyzed why tattoos became an important thing in the contemporary fashion scene. The main part of my thesis focuses on the psychology of tattooing, in which I studied the main reasons of making a tattoo, I also researched its role in body tuning. I looked at the topmost styles and dealt with tattoos as a part of design, and in the end of my thesis, I provide an insight into the current situation of tattooing in Hungary – all based on my own poll and interviews with tattoo artists.
