In my thesis, I examine the tasks and skills required of project managers to successfully organize and manage projects based on collaborative art practice and how these tasks and skills compare with the requirements of project management in business. First, I take a close look at the conceptual background of collaborative art practice, followed by an outline of the steps in business project management. Having established both the context of collaborative art practice and the main elements of project management, I examine the tasks required by collaborative art practice in comparison with the steps of business project management through three case studies. In presenting the results, I underscore the aspects of collaborative art projects that differ from those of business projects. The goal of my thesis is to give a broader idea of what those who wish to work on such projects in the future should be prepared for.
