Alleviation of hospitalization
My architectural concept is the design of temporary rehabilitation homes for children with chronic disease and for their parents. My thesis serves as a preliminary study by examining the situation of sick children and their families and exploring their rehabilitation possibilities. Children with chronic illness and their parents are exposed to frequent stressful situations for years. The hospital is an inevitable setting for the daily lives of the child and family, leading to hospitalization syndrome and burnout in the long run. The most common symptoms of hospitalization are that the child will be restless, anxious, passive, aloof, crying, indifferent. In my thesis, I examined the possibilities for alleviating the above-mentioned symptoms with the help of literature review and expert interviews, with special regard to the role of animal therapy and fairy tale therapy.
masterwork
Gubo library and home
The location of my master's thesis is located in the historically built-up part of Veszprém, in the immediate vicinity of the Old Town. On the southwest-facing plot, I set up homes suitable for temporary housing and a family library for sick children and their families during hospital treatment. The temporary home I designed will provide a temporary home for nine families and four single parents during the child’s hospitalizations. Part of my planning concept is for the whole family to receive comprehensive rehabilitation, which is why I set up a family library and also designated rooms for animal therapy, fairytale therapy and art therapy in the home.
