New Art School and Dormitory
In my thesis, I will outline the concept of an art school that offers pregraduate education and has its own dormitory. The reason for this choice of topic is that, when looking at the possibilities of artistic education for young adults, it can be argued that there is currently no such possibility in Hungary that combines quality education and housing. Furthermore, during my research, I could not find any art educational institution that has its own dormitory and all the advantages that it offers beyond providing residential living. After presenting the general positive aspects of the dormitory, I will also give some specific examples. In my thesis I examined the current situation and structure of art education in Hungary, with a special focus on what influences the quality of a school. My focus is not on the much-discussed problem of housing poverty, but on the many other benefits of cohabitation that are often overlooked in public discourse and in practice. The most appropriate solution, I suggest, is the residential college with a preparatory year, the closest example being the foundation year system in the UK. Despite the fundamental difference that in the UK the universities run most preparatory schools, there are many useful lessons to be learnt for a privately run institution outside the school system. I conclude by summarising the results of the analyses and presenting what an up-to-date, forward-thinking, residential art school for young people would look like in broad terms.

Downtown Art School and College
My diploma project was the design of a building complex that can provide art education for students for whom drawing skills and visual education have not previously been emphasized. It should also be able to provide accommodation and thus art education in the longer and shorter term for students who are not able to afford it due to the high rents in Budapest.
