Brígakéro drom
I narrated the story of the suffering of Jesus Christ with the help of Roma women and men for my work entitled Brígakéro drom (Way of Suffering). The series of fourteen images portrays the stations of Jesus' last journey at different outdoor locations, with authentic Roma clothing and props. In addition to the organized photography of the individual stations, I also organized a performance of a live-action passion play at the Roman Catholic Church in Piliscsaba this Easter.
thesis
The deep layers of Roma religiosity and its visual analysis
My thesis is examining the Gypsy mission activities of three churches based on Christian traditions and also studies the photographic appearance of the religious Gypsy communities. I provide insight into the religious culture of Hungarian Gypsies based on my own experience from many institutions, members of church and religious Gypsy communities. The text is focusing on the vernacular religiousness and the material dimensions based on, first of all, functional approaches, while I also mention the appearance of photography. My thesis is also an educational experiment based on theories, as in the future I would like to incorporate photography as a medium into the mission programme of a congregation of my choice.
