thesis
The mental health of youth today
In this study, I provide a historical overview of research on individuals between childhood and adulthood, aged 18-25, from the early twentieth century to the present day. I will examine and illustrate how the definition of youth has changed over the ages, and then explore the psychological aspects of adulthood. I will pay particular attention to concepts such as mid-life crisis, quarter-life crisis, cohort experience, answering questions such as whether it is an individual or collective phenomenon, and how the different theories of generation differ.
