More than what it looks like - The visually impaired people in the art world
How do visually impaired people perceive the world? What is summer without colour? Do we really see with our eyes or with our brain? How does someone paint the ocean if they have never seen it? In my research, I am looking at the presence of the visually impaired in the art world, and whether a person who does not perceive the world with their eyes can be a fully-fledged artist. I support my hypotheses with interviews, questionnaires, literary research and my own experiences, but I also talk about my friendships with visually impaired people and the experience of creating blindly.
