The change in the representation of the human figure in the first half of the XXth century
In my thesis, I research how, artists reached out to the human body as a subject of representation and sculpture, for a few decades after the turn of the century. I examine how the human figure is interpreted in art as a result of the historical and social events of the 20th century. From the work of the artists highlighted from that period, I extract key moments and works that I believe have had a great impact on the formation and development of modern sculpture.
