thesis
Study of body image in Central East Europe
The main theme of my thesis is the representation of the female body. At the beginning of the seventies, in Western Europe and the United States, a feminist approach appeared in fine arts (primarily in performative
and photographic works), and at the same time, the attitude towards the female body and the representation of the (female) body
changed. How did feminist artistic positions emerge in Hungary, how can the works of Hungarian artists be positioned in an international context from the seventies to the period of the change of regime? I explore the artistic positions and the question of the body-self-image primarily through the art of Katalin Ladik, Orsolya Drozdik and Zsuzsi Ujj.
