Hungarian Contemporary Women's Art from a Feminist Point of View
My thesis is an analysis of Hungarian contemporary art from a feminist point of view. I describe how female artists’ situation, way of self-expression and representation of gender identity has evolved throughout the 20th century in Hungary, including a more detailed description of three significant creators: Ilona Keserü, Dóra Maurer and Orsolya Drozdik. In order to provide the context needed, I also touch on the subjects of the history and different theories of feminism, as well as its influence and women’s situation in our country.
