In my thesis, I describe the unusual features of theatrical and film costume design through two case studies. First, through a film production where I researched the work of a foreign costume designer in relation to a cinema film and what different and innovative technologies and materials are used. My second case study is theatrical costume design in Hungary through the work of a designer. I am looking for the answer to what alternatives creative artists show in the design of extravagant costumes in the name of sustainability and economical solutions. As a result of the research, it can be said that costume design is a very complex and creative profession, both abroad and in Hungary, where innovative technologies, such as 3D printing, are already playing a key role.
