In my thesis I would like to explore the psychology and sacral significance of the history of masks. In my thesis, I draw attention to masks that function as a means of linking the human and the supernatural. I take a look at the history of mask use, from superhero masks through covid masks to the carved masks used at the busójárás (busó march) in Mohács, and at the same time I analyse the impact of their symbolism on individual and group identity.
