In my thesis I examine the background of the home office topic as well as its causes and effects.The relation between workplace – home and private life – work are placed under scrutiny. More precisely, attempts are made to find answer to the following major questions: what kind of psychological consequences arise owing to working from home? Which mental and physical factors influence our efficiency? To my mind, it is possible to shape ideal surroundings that are suitable to productive remote working. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how this could be introduced into the relatively closed system of our home. The research touches the fields of work psychology and environmental psychology as well as concludes in-depth analyses and surveys carried out in this topic, thus providing a comprehensive picture about the pros and cons of home office.
