My glass sculpture series 'Ways and Passages' examines the fundamental existential questions of being and passing. Stairs are an important architectural element as well as a symbol. They symbolise the overcoming of obstacles, which is the reason why I chose stairs as the leading motif in designing my applied sculpture-prize.
