Spacing

Spacing is a sensory installation that transforms scientific data from spaces inaccessible to the human body – a comet, the stratosphere, and a data centre – back into olfactory compositions, condensing cosmic distance and elemental human proximity into a single visceral experience.
Thesis

Olfactory Space-Time. The Contradictions of Presence and Intimacy at the Intersection of Immersive Design and Performative Practices

Drawing on theoretical frameworks and contemporary olfactory art practices, my thesis examines how scent, closely linked to a sense of proximity, functions within immersive experience design, and how, by bypassing rational thought, it can fundamentally redefine the relationship between space, time, and the perceiver.
