The masterwork is a Lettrist sci-fi video sculpture: a menacing, ruin-like intermedial object constructed from damaged and hand-manipulated 35 mm film strips, hijacked analogue video signals, and asemic letterforms.

MISFIT MEDIALITY AND EXTERNITY – Totalizing Practices in Early Lettrist Experimental Cinema
My thesis examines Lettrist experimental cinema through the concepts of misfit mediality and externity, showing how, in the early 1950s, these became radical expressions of the modernist drive toward totality, while also directly anticipating later performance art and new media art.
