In the absence of mourning traditions, the work weaves a grandmother’s legacy into the fabric of modern life, creating personal rituals that help carry her memory forward through the ongoing process of everyday grieving.

Traditional grieving customs from the countryside through contemporary Hungarian photography
The thesis explores what are traces of traditional grieving practices - particularly from rural Hungary - and how they might still be present in Hungarian photography practices which is proven through both empirical research and theory revealing the possible ways grief and heritage are reshaped and carried into the present.
