Chaos and Order

Human civilization is a complex interplay of construction and destruction, a dichotomy that accelerates in the modern era of rampant consumerism and technological advancement. Our capitalist and technological society rules over the law of nature and this idea has no geographic borders. Such universal world order offers a paradoxical lens: the potential to transcend our current lives and environments juxtaposed with the grim realities of industrial excess and ecological depletion. The series Chaos & Order investigates the intricate relationship between human activity and the natural ecosystem, implying our evolutionary impact as an oxymoron. Through a personal journey I critically examine various uncanny settings of our man-altered landscapes, confronting the viewer with the unsettling beauty and violent force of human influence. Connecting settings from East and West, Europe and emerging economies, the project deals with the fragility of our interconnected global systems and a world becoming increasingly paradoxical beyond reasonable representation.

Through a critical lens, it evaluates the usefulness of neo-Luddite ideology in addressing systemic failures within our post-industrial society. The study highlights the ethical dimensions of rejecting technology from artistic and literary examples. It advocates discourse and moral engagement with technology, blending academic exploration with creative expressions to foster a more reflective and ethically grounded future.
