Unseen Voices

A Contemporary Punk Perspective on Homelessness

Punk challenges the status quo and social norms and gives a voice to the voiceless. The masterwork seeks to combine the rebellious spirit of punk with a constructive mission to change perceptions of homelessness. It uses the visual and rhetorical power of punk to amplify the voices of the homeless, promoting empathy, awareness and positive change. Through visual narratives, the masterwork highlights the diverse backgrounds, experiences and aspirations of homeless people, challenging stereotypes and stigmas. By sharing personal stories, the project aims to create a deeper connection between the public and homeless people. The project encourages viewers to support initiatives that help the homeless, even contributing to wider social change.
thesis

The visual impact of the punk subculture on contemporary graphic design

Does punk zine still exist?

The aim of my thesis is to research, from a historical perspective, the external and internal factors that were necessary for the emergence and survival of the punk subculture. In my research I compare the evolution of the international and the Hungarian punk scenes, with a special focus on the media of graphic design and on zines in particular. Fanzine was one of the mouthpieces of punk, it was in its heyday at the time. Now zine has been revitalised and is thriving again. I wanted to explore if, among the many zines, there are still real, autonomous punk zines expressing strong opinions with a punk attitude and visual world.
