For-profit for nonprofit

My portfolio demonstrates the transformation of my graphic design career from the for-profit sector into an organizational and managerial profession focusing on nonprofit projects. The core of my art and design management experience lies in my work as an exhibition organizer, curator, and cultural manager at Kastner Kommunity, a hybrid community and art space. In this regard, I took part in designing and creating Külkörút, a cultural festival for Budapest's 8th district. My curatorial collaboration with the East Slovak Gallery in Košice and the FontFront project likewise emerged from this framework.

In search of the missing gem Cultivating community in Hungarian graphic design

The subject of my thesis is the examination of the professional and social associations within the Hungarian graphic design scene in the 21st century. Currently, there is no active, personal community-developing activity or an organization that unifies the graphic design community. The social activity of the professional world is utilized mainly by occasional programs, mostly related to competitions. In my thesis I map out the historical context of this phenomenon, while exploring the challenges, needs, and managerial opportunities by means of literature research, in-depth interviews and questionnaire survey. Additionally, I present possible development directions based on the analysis of a realized project that I organized last year, the FontFront design challenge.
