Focus!
On leaving high school, and even after completing my BA in Communication and Media Studies at ELTE, what I wanted to do in my career remained an open question. When applying to the Art and Design Management MA at MOME, my goal was to find my focus and build my future. To reach this goal, I participated in projects that shaped my desire to express my thoughts and observations, to look at things from a different angle and think in structures, and to find my place somewhere around creative processes, but still on the management side. Finally, my work at the Korean Cultural Center in Budapest led me towards the cultural sector, specifically working with children, which is closest to my heart and my skill set.

Cultural Institutes Promoting Foreign Cultures in Budapest
What are the goals of foreign cultural institutes in Budapest? What are the key differences between their activity and their global mission? What does each party gain from their activities in Budapest? These are the questions I am exploring in my thesis. I inspect three institutes: the Korean Cultural Center, the Goethe-Institut and the Institut Francais. I take a look at these institutes’ past and their nation’s history of cultural diplomacy, which helps establish the context and main goals of these institutes. Furthermore, I compare the official websites of these institutes to see how they communicate, what they are focusing on, who their target audience is and what programs they organize to achieve their goals.
