Tales and symbols

Communicating values to secondary school students with the power of tales

My thesis explores the values of (folk) tales that are still valid today, with a focus on how they can help today's high school students grow up. My hypotheses are that it is worth exploring fairy tales and folk tales today, even in adolescence, because they help process physical and mental changes, and that the symbols and archetypes in fairy tales carry an eternal message. My goal is to present the values, possibilities, and significance of folk tales that are still valid today, as well as to explore the connections between contemporary social conditions and value systems, the psychology of adolescence, folk tales and symbols. The research for my thesis is based on literature review. My research supported my assumptions, and I now have a deeper understanding of the topic, which I would like to use in practice during my pedagogical work in the future.
