Humour has always been a part of social interaction and an essential part of our lives, even in educational situations. Internet memes have become the communication tool of the 21st century in the modern sense. The thesis examines the possibilities of using humour, including internet memes, in education and aims to highlight the creative ways of using them. By creating and testing short exercises that can be integrated into lessons, I have tried to develop an innovative pedagogical methodology to motivate students, to get their attention, to allow them to express their opinions and even to deepen their knowledge. The thesis is intended to help those who think that humour and memes can be helpful in educational situations, but it may also be useful for those who just want to know a bit more about this topic.
