Oasis of the Ordinary

My portfolio focuses on the practical aspect of my thesis, the ‘Oasis in Sitke’ project, specifically the participatory approach implemented in the course week I organized (led by German Kinga and Péter Pozsár). Within the project, I fulfil project management and assistant roles to foster collaboration between the emerging community in Sitke and MOME. Additionally, over the past three years, I have deepened my knowledge in video production and arts organization, mediation. Therefore, my professional projects fall into two categories: beyond my main project, I worked on creating a comprehensive interdisciplinary video clip, produced video content for university events, and gained experience internationally as a curatorial assistant in institutions in Nice and Split.

The role of participatory art and design in sustainable communities

In my thesis, I examine sustainable practices and solutions using methodologies emerging around participatory design and art theories in response to specific challenges posed by a given location (Sitke). My research rests on two pillars: the ‘Oasis in Sitke’ project and the theories of sustainable communities, participatory art and design. My main thesis states that through the methodology of participatory design, exciting and innovative solutions can emerge for the challenges surrounding us, which always encompass the criteria of sustainability and creative principles.
