Democratic teacher-student relationships in secondary art education

In my thesis I intend to prove that the characteristics of art education contribute to a more direct
and more democratic teacher-student relationship, which has a positive impact on the effectiveness of teaching. I review the various interpretations of democratic education. I then examine the teacher-student relationship. I discuss the traditional and democratic relationship, and describe the T.E.T. method and Lewin's leadership types. In the second part of the thesis, I examine the development of secondary art education, the master-student relationship and how it has changed. Finally, in a group interview, I ask participants in secondary art education about their relationship with their teachers and its impact on them.
