masterwork
Transit Zones
The masterwork explores different situations of spatial perception where the loss of the individual’s conscious presence distorts the interpretive range of a given space, blurring the boundaries between real and constructed space. The perceptual rupture occurs through a momentary loss of consciousness, whereby important details are lost, and the visual experience becomes fragmented. The aim of the project is to reinterpret the possibilities of the reception of space through the momentary passage of time, reflecting on the phenomenon of the pensive state of consciousness. Inspired by perceptual experiences in a transitory state of consciousness that Paul Virilio called picnoleptic, visual imprints were created by transforming them into still and moving images.
thesis
The mirror as the place of societal and spatial illusions
The thesis explores the possibilities of the reception of space through various visual perception processes. This action is analysed in detail through the mirror as an object – its material nature allows for the analysis of illusions and various reflections. The research topics include the perception of reality as both real and illusory, the character of the space of the mirror, and the cognitive processes that take place there. The action that takes place between the sight and the reflection is interpreted through the analysis and comparison of practical projects, through my own case studies and by examining various theories. Research results reveal the effects of the perceptual perspectives generated by mirrors and their influence on the interpretation of space.
