Social criticism in art management
How do I intend to partake in the institutional system? This question sums up my work experience in the civil sphere, the cooperation with a non-profit exhibition space and finally, a state institution. The various places of culture and the growth of my professional scope – ranging from communication volunteer to curator and from journalist to co-editor-in-chief – highlight how I have taken more and more responsibility in the implementation of autonomous, critical thinking and dialogue.

Anatomy of a university magazine Designisso on the edge of brand and culture building
What can be the role of a student-edited online university magazine today? Established ten years ago, Designisso is the most long-term example among MOME’s university newspapers. Its educational program and aim at becoming a professional design culture and contemporary art journal have provided countless students the opportunity to enter the professional scene as budding authors or designers. The critical state of the Hungarian cultural press could make us wonder what position and gap a university press organ can fill in the public sphere. Where are the limits of an institutional newspaper’s autonomy and critical thinking? My research aims to answer these questions by comparing Designisso to one of the defining cultural student newspapers of the Kádár-era titled Bercsényi 28-30 and two of the similar contemporary student initiatives, Képző.art and Terike from Budapest.
