My thesis aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the world of natural and plant-based paints. The first question that comes to mind is why chemically produced synthetic paints have become so dominant in the industry. My main research focus is to discover whether there is a future for plant pigments, and what advantages and disadvantages they have compared to synthetic dyes. I also want to investigate the areas where organic paints can still gain ground, not only for artistic purposes, but also from an environmental perspective; and what innovative solutions have been developed in this field.
