The Role of LARP and Collective Physical Experience in Performance and Design

In the 21st century, the notions of our identity, our physical body, and our participation in collective experiences is increasingly transformed by the rise of online platforms and the development of technology. Live Action Roleplay (LARP) is a possible method of enhancing the collective physical experience and design. Participants connect with a fictional world from the first-person perspective of a fictional character. The process links the creative and receptive sides of the individual and prominently features different identities. My thesis provides a detailed analysis of how this method contributes to the facets of new media art, performance, and design, exploring the physical and digital boundaries of our bodies.
