Community Organisation Around Pottery Making, From Prehistory to the Present Day
My thesis begins with a brief historical overview, focusing on identifying representative examples of community pottery making from the time of the ancestral communities to the present day. I also examine the impact of the cultural-political situation of the 20th century on ceramic art in Hungary. I describe the first art communities and art colonies that formed around ceramics and the contemporary ceramic groups they inspired, with a brief overview of the motivations behind the emergence of today's community workshops. I am convinced that in the future the energy crisis, the increasingly extreme economic situation, and the need to protect our environment will lead to an increase in the number of community spaces. I consider knowledge sharing to be extremely important. Therefore, at the end of my thesis I give a detailed description of the advantages and necessary conditions of community workshops, based on my own experience and using the model developed in LUNO Studio, in order to facilitate the establishment of such creative communities.
