In the face of the transience of human life and the unpredictability of the world, architecture can serve as a spiritual remedy that brings a sense of meaningful order to the chaos around us. At the same time, architecture also reflects the essential features of political systems, regardless of societal structures. As an extremely costly medium, architecture is particularly exposed to the whims of power, whether it involves construction or destruction. Thus, the architecture of an era reveals much about the relationship between the prevailing power and society. That is why I believe that we can examine the current local political situation through architecture, specifically the construction of the city centre in Zugló. Analysing this phenomenon can also provide insights into the ideological characteristics of the system.
