In my thesis I examine the appearance of anthropomorphic creatures in films created with the stop motion technique. My research touches on the origins and psychological effects of these creatures, as well as the reasons motivating their use in animation. I analyse these characters according to the proportion of their human and animal qualities and what purpose these qualities serve.
