My thesis examines the visual and conceptual movement of retrofuturism. I explore nostalgia for times that never were, and analyse its cultural effects. Through the world of film, I seek to understand why this phenomenon has become popular lately, and why it relates to technological innovation with irony. My research uncovers how retrofuturism combines elements of the past, present, and future, and how it serves as a means of artistic and cultural expression.
