Is music dangerous?

Manipulative design tools and our aesthetic vulnerabilities

In my thesis I aim to expose our aesthetic vulnerabilities through the analysis of designed consumer spaces and the background music used in them. Music is virtually omnipresent in our lives and it has potentially manipulative effects. Also, the pleasure-seeking behaviour in our society leads to the creation of sacred places of consumerism. In light of this, I aim to prove that we should be much more responsible when consuming any kind of design and aesthetic experience. For this, I explore how consumer behaviour may be enhanced through design tools, and the moral dilemmas of aesthetic experiences.
