Material Development in the Framework of Circular Design
Object design led by material development, biodesign, DIY materials, and the search for sustainable alternatives in general are increasingly engaging designers, both globally and at our university. My thesis explores, among other things, how an exciting material development can become a scalable, innovative alternative. In the first part of the thesis, I introduce sustainable and material-centred design and the DIY approach. I then present the intersection of circular design and DIY materials, illustrated through examples.
