In my thesis, I examine the vision of love as depicted by romantic comedies, and explore how this image can influence the audience’s reality. Following a precise definition of the genre, I will present six aspects of the depiction of love in romantic comedies based on content research, illustrated with examples from film. Finally, I examine and compare research findings on the impact of romantic comedies on viewers, emphasising the need for a responsible attitude from filmmakers and consumers alike.
