My thesis examines the impact of 3D printing on the field of design: the fundamental changes that have taken place over the last three decades and the resulting emergence of the concept of rapid prototyping. To this end, I review various prototyping methods and present the history and applications of 3D printing. The widespread use and fast-evolving nature of AI also necessitates a discussion of its role in the work of designers. The science behind my thesis is based on articles and books, as well as studies published on the Internet. The in-person and written interviews I had conducted also facilitated my exploration of the topic.
