Memory Erosion

An important element of human life is reminiscence. What happens to our personal memories after we die? Ideally, we pass them on during our lifetime, and eventually, they fade away and are forgotten. In my masterwork, I present the natural process of memory erosion through my own defining experiences. I uncover memories, moods, and life events that have played a role in shaping my identity, thinking, and life trajectory.

"Clothes and women’s stories being young in rural socialist Hungary"

My thesis uncovers the details of the lives of three elderly rural women through the stories they tell and the clothes they inherited. My research examines the connection between storytelling and identity, showcasing iconic items of clothing attached to the turning points of human life. I also reflect on the social possibilities and political narrative of post WWII socialist Hungary. The primary source of my thesis consists of interviews and two inherited sets of clothing.
