No-Sync
A young couple is trapped in an endless cycle of fights and a lack of understanding. With each repetition, their fight becomes increasingly distorted. Eventually, their shape dissolves visually, and their outlines vanish among magnetic particles. My masterwork is a two-channel video installation that utilises the limitations of the analogue video medium to examine the detrimental effects of repetitive toxic patterns on relationships.

Medium-aware self-reflection in animated short films
My thesis examines how self-reflexive animated short films, specifically those that are aware of their own medium, use self-reflexivity as a device for added meaning. My research attempts to uncover how these works use medium-specific markers stemming from different elements and techniques, and what added value the above mentioned authorial devices carry; in other words, which attributes justify their presence in the film. My thesis examines self-reflexive devices in live action and animated films alike. I present the findings of film literature, and based on the identified criteria I analyse those animations by Jan Svankmajer that apply self-reflexive devices.
