Our Roots

My masterwork explores the theme of co-creation with nature through a process of image-making. I focus on the alienation from nature and our cultural roots, aiming to bring these aspects to the surface through textile art. My goal is to connect textile art with our environment in a way that encourages interaction. Using a four-piece wall textile collection, I extract the motif from the fabric with the help of nature by creating the necessary conditions for the plant. Drawing inspiration from the distinctive regional embroidery traditions of Hungarian folk art, I created life tree motifs in the compositions.

Co-creation

Forms of collaboration with nature within the fields of art and design

My thesis explores the concept of co-creation by focusing on collaborating with natural elements and living organisms. My goal is to uncover the driving force behind attempts at co-creation and associated creative attitudes. I explore this through the lens of historical examples, moving on to investigate how we collaborate with nature in art and design. I wish to make the resulting knowledge an integral part of my future creative endeavours. My goal is to link the environment with textile art in a way that fosters interactions with nature.
