Working out my way through work

The four semesters spent at MOME have not only been about deepening my knowledge and truly launching my professional career at last: they have equally been about finding my own identity, so I tried myself in different fields. I spent almost a year working as a journalist at Hypeandhyper magazine, and several months at Turbina Cultural Centre as a communications associate. At present I manage the assorted projects of designer Sára Kele, and I am the curator of the anniversary exhibition of Henger Studio. My portfolio illustrates this journey, coloured with success and challenges in equal measure.
thesis

Archive fashion as a contemporary phenomenon

My thesis examines archive fashion, a phenomenon that has had a significant influence over the way we dress over the last couple of years. I inspect archive fashion in contexts that demonstrate how the media, nostalgia, the Internet, and the human psyche are able to shape our clothing habits. Through the iconic archive collections of designers from abroad, and using an in-depth interview conducted with the editors of Magyarchive, a Hungarian social media site, I analyse the cultural influence and community building power of one of the most popular recent trends.
