My diploma collection aims to showcase the various stages of processing my personal trauma, spanning across five phases. My items are wearable keepsakes that explore the concept of storytelling and the resolution of trauma. The garments are made of knitted textures and colours that reflect the features of each processing phase. The personal narrative creates a connection between the wearer and the garment that goes beyond physical contact: a fragment of my story is vested in it.

Processing trauma through a fashion collection
How important is the background and experience of the designer when creating a fashion collection? What is the relationship between people and their clothes? Art and design are capable of recreating experiences, and conveying and amplifying feelings. Transplanting personal trauma into a fashion product can happen in a variety of ways. My thesis is based on my own personal experience. The focus of my research is fashion as a tool for processing trauma.
