The extent of independence and its effect on art and design projects
During the past four semesters I covered a lot of ground during my internships. From curatorial work to management, communication to research, I have delved into a variety of subjects. Therefore I chose a topic as the overarching theme of my portfolio that proved crucial in every project I worked on: independence. As the curator of the Hidden Dimensions exhibition, the programme manager of the Colorado Festival, the organiser of the MOME FAIR Design Fair, and the founder of the social startup Mi Időnk (Our Time), I experienced different levels of independence. My portfolio demonstrates the effect the perceived level of freedom had on me and my work.
thesis
Media representation and communication of contemporary architecture in Hungary in the age of new media
My thesis examines the relationship between contemporary architecture, the media, and communications in light of the changing media landscape and the transition between old and new media. It is my hypothesis that the heavy noise of media prevents the mission, messages, and achievements of contemporary architecture from reaching a wider audience. I analyse this from a historical perspective, and drawing on two case studies, I formulate an optional answer, a potential solution in the shape of a communications guide. On the one hand, my thesis is a situation report of the current status and representation of contemporary architecture in the age of new media through a historical lens: on the other, it is a manager's recommendation for state-of-the-art architectural communications.
