The tradition of preserving hair that has been cut has a long history and plays an important role in various cultures. With the advancement of technology, photographs have taken over the role of preserving memories. However, many people still choose to keep a tangible lock of hair tucked away in a drawer. The goal of my masterwork is to reimagine the tradition of preserving hair and provide an opportunity to preserve the deep meanings associated with hair. The objects I have created help preserve the emotional significance and express human connections and attachments. Unique and personalized pieces that preserve cherished memories.

The significance of haircuts and the multifaceted uses of human hair
My thesis examines the various habits and beliefs associated with human haircuts. My goal is to gain a better understanding of the rich symbolism and deeper meaning behind them. As a starting point, I study literature on the significance of hair and haircuts, then chart out the meanings and applications associated with cut hair in various cultures and historical eras.
