Design management – how I built my career

My portfolio showcases my professional development, grouped by the organisations that I have recently been part of. I fulfill completely different roles in each organisation; university student, sole trader, and even employee. Each individual area of responsibility, as well as their sum total, necessitates management experience. For that reason my portfolio presents my projects in terms of how the role of management has grown in my career so far.

Self-management in subjective, hard to measure areas

As a result of the process of digitisation career structures have changed in recent years, and the employee market has become significantly more flexible. Consequently, today we have numerous creative and innovative possibilities at our disposal, allowing people to find jobs globally and in different ways, and enabling them to define their own career path. Therefore the role of self-management has grown significantly. People have to take ownership of finding the areas that they can identify with the most. I have observed this change on my own professional career. From a linear path I have gradually progressed to what we can only describe as a multidirectional career path. How may I be able to guide this process and what role does self-management play in it?
