The thesis revolves around the subject of ecomuseums. It aims to provide insight into the complex theoretical background of ecomuseums, illustrated by a case study. At the same time, it serves as a contribution to the ongoing Hungarian scientific research on ecomuseums. The backbone of the thesis was provided by multilingual literature and a face to face conversation with Dr Sándor Némethy, the designer of the Balaton Ecomuseum.
