My thesis examines the impact of new media phenomena on the art sphere, focusing on the topic of net art or art on the internet. I delve into the medium-specific characteristics of Internet art, how it utilises the opportunities provided by mass communication, and how these allow it to engage with the audience. Furthermore, I also explore how certain artists transform their artworks for new media platforms, and inspect the tools they use to that end.
