20th-Century Tapestry Art in Hungary

In my thesis, I explore the formation and the social and artistic structure of the Gödöllő Artists' Colony. I aim to investigate how the life of the colony unfolded, integrating work, art, and everyday life. I also examine the events in Aladár Körösfői-Kriesch's life that led him towards a new worldview and ultimately establishing the Gödöllő Artists' Colony. Finally, through the analysis of the tapestry titled Ülő nő rózsákkal (Seated Woman with Roses), I will explore the stylistic features of the Gödöllő era, the unique weaving techniques employed, and the general artistic and cultural perspectives of the time.
