My thesis investigates what it means to be, and become, a product designer in Hungary. Firstly, I examine the emergence of product design in Hungary, with a particular focus on the influences that have shaped the development of the profession and its current relevance. In my analysis, I delve into the milestones of product design education, which form a significant foundation of present-day education. Furthermore, I explore the assumptions regarding the profession held by prospective students, current students, and graduates of product design. These three groups form the analytical focus of my research.
